Rhetorical Blog of the biography of Blake Stone
The biography was a very interesting reading. The author is good at grabbing the reader’s attention. I thought the story was interesting yet a little weird. I thought that the fact that a little kid would get on the internet late at night to talk about dancing, kissing, and more is weird. This definitely makes you think of how the internet can be full of false information. Things such as people acting like someone else can be very dangerous. Especially when the time comes to meet friends off the internet or chat rooms. People can get harmed or even killed doing things like that. I agreed and also disagreed with some of the things that were in this reading. The fact that a young boy was allowed to have unlimited access to the internet and left alone almost every day with his grandma I disagree with. I understand that the kids parents needed some time alone to do activities and go out to eat alone, but every day is not necessary. I would not be surprised how many young people might do this every day to get away from their daily lives. I think that the author tried to create the message to people that it is important to just be yourself. I think that the author did a good job being able to use both the kid’s life and the made-up character to show meaningful lessons about life. The author shows that things such as a little internet exploring or little things like this can end up being life-long lessons in life. The boy was just trying to have something fun to do on his spare time and eventually led to more than a friendly conversation. The young boy in the story soon understood that being someone else is not very important. I can somewhat relate to how the kid in the story wanted to somewhat get away from his daily life in middle school. The reason I think I can relate to this is because I know how sometimes doing the same things everyday for a long period of time can get boring. I think everyone has some way to get away from these boring times. For everyone it could be different things. For example, I like to get away from my daily life by going home and playing video games or just relaxing and lying down. In the biography of Blake Stone the young boy simply liked to do the same and get away from his daily life. His way of getting away is just by acting as if he were someone else. The guy he created online was just an average twenty-two year old guy who was attending college. This story did actually keep my entertained. The kids conversations with the other people kept me entertained. I personally never really used chat rooms and meeting people online to get away from my life. Although I have seen people and friends use chat rooms to just have friendly conversations with other people that they knew. Therefore I kind of understand how the young boy became attached to these chat rooms. This story can teach me a lesson not to try to be someone else that I am not. In the end the young boy realized that he wasn’t doing the right thing. He stated that he needed to focus on more important things. In my opinion, this was probably the most important part of the story. It shows that the moral of the story is that the boy learned a lesson. I think that the boy learned that he doesn’t need to be someone else to get noticed. The boy I think realized that it is not important what other people think about him. Like the young boy in the story, I completely agree. I also think that it is not important what other people think of me. I believe this is why the boy stopped getting online to talk to these new people that he met is because he realized that only his opinion is the important one. I think that the author tries to show other people what a young kid in middle school might often go through. I don’t think that the young boy in this particular story is not much different then what a lot kids happen to go through. Like I said earlier, everybody usually has certain things they do to get away from their daily lives. I think that this was a good reading and that it shows a very valuable lesson in life.

In Class:
x-box 360
playing football
cleaning- around the house
track-shotput and discus
cooking- baking
driving cars
talking to new people
playing board games
sleeping
swimming
I became an authority on shotput and discus by simply liking the sport so much. I started my sophomore year throwing shotput and discus for my high school. I caught on very quickly and started to excel. My very first year being in track and participating in shotput and discus I won district and went to regionals. I learned more about the sport more and more as the year went on, and even after the year ended. I went to personal track lessons during the summer and into my junior year of high school. I believe this is probably the time I created an authority for this sport. Just because of the fact that I knew so much about the technique and how to do it well. It felt as if I didn't even need a coach anymore. I kept getting better at track and eventually attended the state track meet and got 2nd place under the best in the state.

In Class: Freewrite
Writing as inquiry is a way to write to find out things rather than writing about things you know. Being able to ask yourself questions while your writing is important. I think being able to write as inquiry is a pretty hard thing to do. Well as of right now I do, but I'm sure I will eventually catch on to how to do this very well. I think that writing as inquiry is also a way to express things you might feel about a certain reading. You can type about the things you thought about when you read something.

About me.
Hey, my name is DJ Yendrey. I am from a little town in south Texas called Edna. I am a freshman here at TCU. I am also on the football team. College football is what i have wanted to do all throughout high school, so i am pretty excited about playing here. I am pre-major as of right now, but I am thinking about trying to major in something to do with sports. I enrolled in this class because the football academic advisor told me I needed to take this. I hope to learn to write better papers as i go through this course so it can help me later in my college cereer. I stay in Moncrief hall right now. It's pretty cool so far. I am looking forward to rest of the year. It seems like it is going to be alot of fun. Well thats about all, but if you want to know anything else about me.... just ask.
